Hi Everyone,

It’s Friday afternoon and we are moving to the close of the LS FLO MicroCourse. Beth and I have been astounded by the high level of participation and delighted by all the thoughtful LS designs and peer feedback given in your triad groups.  We hope you found this MicroCourse helpful in your journey to learn more about Liberating Structures and to experience what you could start doing with LS creatively in an online context. We look forward to hearing more from you through the W3 activity and what your next steps will be.

If you need to take a bit more time to finish in your triads going into the weekend, we invite you to do so.  If you have a resource to share on Liberating Structures or other ones that came up in your conversations, please feel free to share in the Open Forum. We have also just posted the LS Design Storyboard in Tips and Resources which you may find as a helpful tool in your planning.

For those seeking more practice and meeting other LS practitioners, there are two active Liberating Structures User Groups in B.C. which meet face-to-face to practice regularly:

Vancouver LS User Group led by Leva Lee and Barish Golland

Victoria LS User Group led by Beth Cougler Blom and Tracy Roberts

Together, our groups have also met and experimented with LS online. Everyone is welcome to join us!

And for an abundance of resources and a great network of global LS practitioners, join the LS Slack group (based out of Seattle and coordinated by Nancy White and Fisher Qua)

Thank you for learning about and exploring Liberating Structures with us in FLO this week. We look forward to learning with you again.

All the Best,

Leva and Beth

Hello Everyone!

Lots of action happening in the Open Forum and the Sharing and Feedback Forum! We didn’t anticipate that there would be such interest in using Liberating Structures in a variety of modes. So glad we are able to provide the opportunity for everyone to explore. We too are trying a few things out for the first time. In the spirit of LS, we “fail forward” together!

By this time, you should have posted your LS Activity to your group (triad). And as noted in the Activity packet: Day 4, Step 4, you will be changing hats from Client (if you’ve not already done so) to Consultant and providing advice to the two others in your group.

Note: If you would like to offer some feedback to someone who is not in your group, a reminder to you that you can do so using Marginalia . A quick video by Beth walking through how to use this cool tool is here.

As well, tips have been provided for you in the Sharing and Feedback Forum on the mindset for receiving or providing feedback in your triads. And if you want more advice beyond your triad group feel free to post your LS Activity in the additional forum.

Lastly, please continue to ask any questions and share your ideas and stories in the Open Forum!

Cheers and have a great day!

Leva and Beth

Good morning everyone! The conversations you’ve been having in the Open Forum have been rich and plentiful!  It’s great to see so many connections being made…

Today we launch into the Review and Feedback Phase and Step 3 of the Activity Packet where you will Get into Groups and Post your Liberating Structures Activity. Using the Google signup sheet, we have created groups for you in the Sharing and Feedback Forum. Please follow the instructions and post your Liberating Structures Activity providing information about your context, purpose, choice of LS and a draft invitation.

Here's a visual we created to show you how the groups (triads) work for Step 3 and 4.

We have also created an additional forum for those of you who prefer to "dip in" and share your LS Activity or provide help, "free-form".

Get creative and have fun with this! If you need help, please let us know.

Hi Everyone,

This year we are trying something new to ETUG - the Unconference. The Call for Facilitators is open now: http://etug.ca/2014/10/15/fall-workshop-2014-call-for-facilitators/

Why are we straying from our usual format? Well mostly because it's good to try something different from time to time and we've received feedback that for the Fall workshop it'd be good to give people more time and space to talk. Well here's your chance to talk and network around some topics you decide on, important to you and find someone else equally interested in talking/exploring/practicing/solving it. How great is that?

If you have any questions and I'm sure some of you will, pleases post them here. This is our first Unconference and we are figuring this out together.

Cheers,
Leva
