Thanks to Sylvia and SCoPE for creating a place where we can come together and learn from each other! I am looking forward to our interactions in this seminar and hope it will be both useful and fun.

To get started, let's get acquainted. Please introduce yourself...

  • Why are you interested in synchronous online interviews?
  • What are you most curious, concerned or intrigued about in regard to collecting data through online interviews?
  • Have you ever conducted an online interview or participated in one?
  • If you are designing or carrying out research, tell us about your area of research interest.
  • What do you hope to learn in or gain from this seminar?

Warmly,
Janet

Start 2010 with what I hope will be a lively discussion of online interview research! Can't wait? Watch the Online Interviews In Real Time: Webinar And Book Release Party https://sas.elluminate.com/site/external/event/description?instance_id=17334.

Everyone is welcome, whether you are just thinking about research, an experienced researcher, or someone who guides and teaches researchers.

Naturally, I will be referring to the book, Online Interviews in Real Time but book purchase is not a requirement for participation. (http://www.sagepub.com/booksProdDesc.nav?prodId=Book233088&level1=Course1007&currTree=Courses) I will be posting additional materials and will welcome you to contribute as well.

I will set up one discussion thread for students/researchers and another for instructors/reviewers. You are welcome to participate in either or both discussions. However, the issues may be slightly different for those who are proposing and conducting research and those who must give others feedback and evaluate research designs, theses, dissertations or articles for publication.

I will also arrange at least one synchronous event-- once we get started in January I'll ask for a vote on best times and schedule accordingly.

I look forward to our vibrant exchange starting January 18, 2010.

Warmly,

Janet

SCoPE: Seminars -> Collaborate Online: December 5 - 16, 2007 -> Closure

by Janet Salmons -

Our time has ended...but I hope our conversations about collaboration will continue in other events and discussions. Once I catch my breath I will add some materials to the wiki. I will keep the SCoPE community posted when new events are scheduled next spring.

FYI-- I am continuing my research on the Taxonomy of Collaborative E-Learning. If you design, plan and/or teach higher ed courses online with collaborative methods-- and you'd be willing to meet with me for an hour or so-- please contact me at jsalmons@vision2lead.com.

Thank you for your thoughtful participation. I've enjoyed meeting you in the Elluminate sessions and the discussion here. Happy Holidays!

Warmly,
Janet
