* Seminar: Supporting and Advancing Online Dialogue
Facilitator: Cindy Xin
May 7-27, 2007
In this three-week seminar, we will reflect on the nature, characteristics, and practices of online dialogue. How is online dialogue different from or the same as face-to-face dialogue? What are the particular challenges and opportunities we face when engaging in online dialogue in an educational context? What are some tools and strategies we can use to sustain and advance online dialogue?

5. Blogging to Enhance Learning Experiences Book Project
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
During the February Blogging to Enhance Learning Experiences seminar many participants expressed interest in writing a book together. Then things started to move very quickly! To date 34 members have joined the project by responding to a quick poll or enrolling in the book project space. We set up a wiki and began to carve out a table of contents and identify lead writers for chapters. We also have a forum for ongoing discussion about milestones, publishing options, copyright, and everything else that crops up with collaborative writing projects. You are welcome to join us! Choose your role: observer, editor, lead writer, contributer, reviewer, cheerleader... Any way you would like to contribute is appreciated as we write this book together!
6. PeriSCoPE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SCoPE members are busy elsewhere...

* Ken Udas is organizing the Terra Incognita project where international authors post and discuss articles related to open source software in education. The content from the discussion is then reformatted and made available on WikiEducator as Open Educational Resources.

* Frances Long has just wrapped up the 1st Canadian Moodlemoot, a combined f2f and online conference. Many familiar names were seen on the name tags for presenters, moderators, technicians, and virtual delegates. As key organizer for this very successful event, Frances has much to be proud of!

7. Under Construction
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SCoPE will always be under construction (hopefully!) :-) However, recently we put up a "Please bear with us" sign as we changed over to a new look for our community. Many SCoPE members were instrumental in guiding the design work, but a special thanks goes to Jonathan Nodrick for his outstanding work on the graphics and colour scheme, to Kate Britt for her keen eye and reports on issues, and to Corinne Brooks for her interface suggestions.
