How Are You Integrating AI Tools Into Teaching Without Compromising Learning Integrity?

I've been exploring ways to thoughtfully integrate AI tools (like ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.) into my teaching practices—especially in post-secondary environments. While these tools offer amazing support for accessibility, language learning, and brainstorming, I'm also concerned about how to maintain academic integrity and critical thinking.

My question is: How are you currently using (or not using) AI tools in your classrooms, and what guidelines or strategies have you found effective to ensure students still engage deeply with the material?

Some specific areas I'm curious about:

  • Are you openly discussing AI use with your students?

  • Have you modified assessments or assignments in response to AI’s capabilities?

  • Are there institutional policies forming around this yet at your college/university?

Looking forward to learning from your experiences!

Thanks in advance,
—Jordan T.

Drive Mad takes the idea of trial and error to a whole new level. With vehicles that handle like rubber ducks and tracks that laugh in the face of realism, it’s a game that celebrates failure as much as success—and somehow makes both incredibly satisfying.

Current, important topics. Accurately state the issue. Questions worth discussing. Good forums for sharing experiences.

Like the game Basketball Stars, there is a "virtual assistant" that suggests tactics. Benefits: easy for newbies to access, tactical support. Concerns: honesty (AI plays instead?), critical thinking (rely on AI?), game balance (AI is stronger?). Need to consider carefully, discuss the community, put in "rules" like schools build policies on AI.
