Hi Mika,

We don't have the session times yet as we are drafting the agenda from the inputs during this SCoPE seminar. The meeting will be business hours in the Kamloops time zone. If you sign up as a virtual participatant we will communicate all the information you need to participant.

We won't stagger time zones -- the logistics are too hard for a large international meeting like this. However, we will record the live webcast of the pleneary sessions for later viewing and incorporate asynchronous opportunities for the virtual participant breakout groups.

All SCoPE participants in our OERu planning seminar are invited to join the 2nd meeting of OERu partners on 31 October and 1 November 2013.

The plenary sessions will be streamed live with a microblog back-channel for remote participants.  During the breakout sessions, we will provide technologies for virtual participants to work on design solutions for the same problems which will be fed back into the main meeting.

You can register your interest on WikiEducator to attend as virtual participant and we will send you email announcements to keep you up to date and post reminders of the session times.

Look forward to seeing you all online during our landmark meeting and official launch of the OERu.

Hi everyone,

A BIG thank you for all your contributions -- we have a wealth of valuable contributions to assist with planning the next steps for the OERu. What happens now?

  1. We will extract an agenda from the contributions during this OERu SCoPE seminar for the 2nd meeting of anchor partners. True to our open philosophy at the OER Foundation, this agenda will be drafted openly in the wiki.
  2. Paul Stacey, Senior Project Manager at Creative Commons has kindly offered to prepare a summary of this SCoPE seminar. Paul will present this summary as an input document at the 2nd meeting of OERu anchor partners. Thank you for shareing your knowledge freely.
  3. You are invited to join the 2nd meeting of OERu anchor partners and the official launch of the OERu as virtual participants. Please register your interest to participate here in WikiEducator and we will send you updates of the schedule and times once the agenda is fixed. As usual, there will be a live backchannel for the webcast and collaborative breakout sessions for virtual participants to contribute to our ongoing planning and implementation of the OERu.

On behalf of the OER Foundation and our Board of Directors, I extend our thanks to BCcampus, one of our anchor partners for hosting this SCoPE seminar and facilitating sessions. I'm also grateful to our colleauges at Thompson Rivers University who also helped with the facilitation and bringing rich insights to the table.

Let's make open futures happen and I will see you at the official launch of the OERu on 1 November!

During our quality discussions, Christine referenced the eCampusAlberta.ca Quality eToolkit. This is a high quality set of resources -- I know becuase the TANZ eCampus initiative here in New Zealand have been using these resources with permission for building quality standards for the TANZ partnership.

In this forum, we asked whether these resources could be relicensed under an open content license.

The eCampusAlberta.ca team responded immediately to this challenge and the Quality eToolkit now has a spanking new Creative Commons Attribution License. Kudos to eCampusAlberta.ca for leading by example.

The OERu now has an exemplary set of materials on which to build and improve our quality.

Thank you for sharing knowledge freely -- working together we will achieve more than working alone.

Your organisation is part of the ecosystem and our open planning philosophy at the OER Foundation welcomes the advice and support of all organisations who care about finding more affordable solutions and pathways for access to higher education credentials.

Any help you can offer is glady received. Hope you will be joining us as a remote participant during the next meeting. The time zone difference between OZ and Canada is workable.
