Funny you asked for I'm interested in what tools Open University of Catalonia effectively uses as LMS. I know this course is NOT about tools but as I'm a tool builder I'm naturally interested.
In fact I'm interested in finding institutions that want to develop their own tools but are still open to new ideas. For instance, what does your university use for learning analytics?

I began to be adept of connectivism after a talk in Portugal from Stephen Downes around spring 2009.
I'm developing a Virtual World for everything but I test it with healthcare and higher education use cases. I don't think that the environment to learn should be separate from the rest as it is now.
My interests in education are organized in www.meddia.com (some in portuguese) and for analytics you can click on "Projectos".
With this course I hope to learn more about:
1) Connectivism and its practice in MOOC.
2) Analytics to improve learning (taking advantage of my business datamining and reporting tools).
3) What my www.umniversity.com platform has to include so as to perform in 1) and 2).
