Hello all you early birds. :-) As you can see we're still getting things organized in the is workshop space, so you only have access to a few items until we get started on Monday.

Meanwhile, I've received a few email messages asking about the course schedule, and if there are any live sessions. Each week there will be an asynchronous forum where most of the conversations will happen. However, we do have one synchronous session scheduled for week 1:

When: Thursday, 26 September at 10:00 a.m. PDT (Check your time zone

Where: SCoPE Blackboard Collaborate room: http://urls.bccampus.ca/scopeevents

What: Gather together to learn a bit more about the topics of Openness and Open Textbooks, meet workshop participants, ask questions, and share your experiences with openness, good and bad.

So pop that in your calendars! Hope the time works. If not, it will be recorded.

Welcome to OERu: Developing an Agenda Together, and welcome (back) to SCoPE seminars! After a hiatus from our monthly seminars we are excited to kick off the academic year with this important step in the implementation of the OERu.

About this seminar

During this two-week seminar we will review progress of OERu implementation and discuss development of the agenda for the next meeting of OERu anchor partners. This seminar builds on earlier SCoPE discussions from 2011:

About our facilitators

Megan, what an interesting question! We've had a few people ask about the time commitment for this workshop. It is informal, so you are welcome to participate according to your own schedule and interests. However, if there's something we can do to help you work toward your recertification then we're happy to help. I'll need some more details to understand the request, so I recommend sending me email: scurrie@bccampus.ca

If anybody else is interested in what we come up with, then let's keep the thread going!
