Hello all you early birds. :-) As you can see we're still getting things organized in the is workshop space, so you only have access to a few items until we get started on Monday.

Meanwhile, I've received a few email messages asking about the course schedule, and if there are any live sessions. Each week there will be an asynchronous forum where most of the conversations will happen. However, we do have one synchronous session scheduled for week 1:

So pop that in your calendars! Hope the time works. If not, it will be recorded.

Welcome to OERu: Developing an Agenda Together, and welcome (back) to SCoPE seminars! After a hiatus from our monthly seminars we are excited to kick off the academic year with this important step in the implementation of the OERu.

About this seminar

During this two-week seminar we will review progress of OERu implementation and discuss development of the agenda for the next meeting of OERu anchor partners. This seminar builds on earlier SCoPE discussions from 2011:

About our facilitators

Wayne Mackintosh is founding Director of OER Foundation and the International Centre for Open Education based at Otago Polytechnic in New Zealand.

Irwin Devries is Director of Curriculum Development, Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Open Learning Division, located in British Columbia, Canada.

Brian Lamb is Director, Innovation Open Learning, also at TRU.

This is happening TODAY at 16:30 PST (see your time zone)

Several years ago SCoPE and CPsquare began a series called "Quarterly Field Trips" where we visit communities and focus in on questions the community is facing. Today we are visiting SCoPE! The details are posted in the CP2 wiki: http://cpsquare.org/wiki/SCOPE_November_6_2012

For this field trip we have a special group joining in! Graduate students enrolled in Simon Fraser University's Educational Technology and Learning Design program are working on prototypes of online spaces to support Communities of Practice. This activity to explore a living community will help to inform that project.

You're all invited so I hope to see you there!
