How to Prepare Students to Use GenAI
Inviting students to use GenAI in their coursework is new. What do we need to do to prepare students to engage with this tool responsibly, ethically, safely, and in an informed manner? What do we need to tell them, or discuss with them, to ensure their experience is positive, responsible, and informed, in this course and beyond?
In this discussion forum, we invite you to brainstorm how you might introduce and lay the foundation for the use of GenAI in your classroom. You will use this material later on, as you design and develop your own assessment idea.
To make a post, simply click the button Add Discussion Topic, and complete the form.
If others have posted before you, you will see their posts listed in rows below. Simply click on a post to view it. You can Reply to a post if you wish.
Challenge: Consider posting a video of your contribution rather than writing it. Adding a video of your comments will usually convey your enthusiasm and intent better than text. It also makes it more personable. This short video tutorial will show you how to do this.
[Note: You must make one original post as a requirement for obtaining the digital badge for this course. We invite you to also read and respond to your colleagues' ideas.]
