General Discussion (including social space!)

Hey everyone, I have just finished writing my first manuscript and I’m planning to go for self book publishing instead of the traditional route. But honestly, I’m not sure where to begin there are so many platforms and services out there. For those who’ve already published their books this way, what steps or tips would you recommend to make the process smoother and more successful?
