As a Research Tech/Assistant with Faculty of Education on UBC’s Okanagan campus, I collaborate with students, staff and faculty as we discover options to technology quandaries. Metaphorically, I consider myself a ‘raccoon with shiny objects’ (New term? As a PhD student in Interdisciplinary graduate studies (IGS); I am pursuing meaningful signposts (comprehensives and research proposal) that lead me to candidacy. Metaphorically, I realize to succeed I will learn to ‘stand still like the hummingbird’ (Henry Miller’s symbolic title for his book of philosophical stories and essays — http://books.google.ca/books?id=1Pr2wywtSjAC&dq=Henry+Miller&redir_esc=y).
