I am an associate professor of English in a faculty of administrative studies at a small university in southern Japan. I have coordinated teacher development projects in Japan for over 20 years. Those projects have focused on pre- and in-service English teachers' concurrent development of computer literacy, language proficiency, and teaching practices.

I have taught both French and English, at universities and secondary schools, in the U.S. and Japan. I have worked for municipal and prefectural boards of education here, and have made presentations at ministry of education sponsored conferences and seminars. I hold a certificate in Technology Based Distributed Learning from the University of British Columbia, and apply what I have learned to create blended (face-to-face and online) and collaborative learning opportunities.

Last millennium, I earned a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, and a Master of Arts degree in Foreign Languages and Literature, at the University of Montana. I'm a member of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, and the Japan Association for Language Teaching.
