Theresa is the Teaching and Learning Coordinator at Selkirk College. She has taught at Thompson Rivers University, Simon Fraser University and at Selkirk College where she won the international NISOD award for leadership in teaching. Theresa is an alumni of Selkirk's Fine Woodworking, Writing and University Arts and Sciences programs as well as Simon Fraser's Communications Program. She completed a Masters Program at Royal Roads University in Intercultural Communications with the support of a national Social Sciences and Human Resource Council scholarship.
Theresa has led a small communications firm, www.southamconsulting.com since 1987, completing award-winning projects throughout North America.Her projects range from building an interpretive centre in the hamlet of Pond Inlet in the Arctic Circle to national strategies for the World Wildlife Fund.Some recent recognitions include:

Theresa has 3 children who she home educated from an early age. Her personal interests include playing stringed instuments, road biking, and skiing.
