Before we begin editing content, let's add in some of the book inforamtion, including the copyright information we need to add.

To do this, we'll be working in the Book Info area of PressBooks. Click on Book Info. Most of these fields should be self-explanatory, so we'll only pay attention to a few specific fields.

  • Title: Give your book a meaningful title
  • Short title: If your title is fairly long, you may want to give the book a short title so the title does not get truncated when we export it for print in PDF format.
  • Author: Add your name.

Now, skip down the page to copyright. Fill in the copyright notice. For the text here, you want to be sure to spell out the following:

  • The terms you are releasing this book under
  • The attribution for the source content you are using.

This is where you want to add in the information you copied from the Connexions source material (in task 1).

So, your copyright notice should look something like this:

This info only appears on the PDF or ePub outpits of the book. In order to have this appear on the website version of the book, you also need to add this information to the Long Description field. So, copy this attribution, scroll down the page to About the Book and add the content to the Long Description field.

Once you have added the copyright inforamtion, scroll back to the top of the page and click the Save button.
