Session Description

Mobile technologies have in the recent years become important devices for the delivery of teaching and learning in most parts of the world. In developing countries, mobile telephony is already having major impacts on many economic and social activities including commerce, banking and education.

Join Brown and Susan in a discussion about how mobile technologies were used in leadership preparation programs, and issues that institutions must face before implementing mobile technologies. Brown will share his experiences from East Africa where students and instructors used Nokia (mobile) phones and Nokia blog software to support blended learning for professional development in a certificate course.

Susan is an associate professor at the University of Calgary. Brown is Susan's doctoral student. Prior to starting his studies, Brown led an mLearning pilot for Aga Khan University in Tanzania.
