Using the Collaborate ULTRA web conferencing application
If you've used something like Zoom or Microsoft Teams or Google Meet in the past, you'll find the Collaborate interface very familiar. When you join a Collaborate session for the first time, you'll be presented with a short tutorial. You can skip this if you like but if you want to watch it, plan to join the Collaborate session at least 5 minutes before your scheduled session starts.
For best results:
- make sure you're using some sort of high-speed internet connection (wifi is fine if the signal is relatively strong)
- mute your microphone when you're not speaking
- if your connection seems very slow or flaky, it may help to turn off your video transmission
- start your Collaborate Chat (it will look like a little word-balloon in the lower right corner of the screen) so that you don't miss the conversation there. The Chat also gives you a tool to ask questions if you can't get a word in edgewise!
