First Steps

Welcome to the pre-workshop orientation space!

We open the FLO-Design workshop space early so that you have a chance to explore and try a few "Moodle" skills before the workshop begins.

We (Emma and Sylvia) will be in the background if you get really confused BUT the intent of this space is to let you poke at things, read, watch, post questions in the Orientation Space forum - whatever you need to do to feel more comfortable about starting the workshop next week.

First Steps (suggestions)

1. Participate in the Orientation session web conference, hosted in Blackboard Collaborate on Wednesday, November 8, 12 noon to 1 pm Pacific Time Zone.
   All you'll need is an Internet connection, and a way to participate. If you have a headset with microphone - that's great.
   
   
2. Review the Quick Overview page in this space. If you really want to "dig" into what the course is about, you'll find more information about the next four weeks in the Workshop Handbook and Schedule (found in the Hub page).
   
   
   
3. If you're new to Moodle (our learning management system), take some time and explore the FAQs (frequently asked questions) and consider trying the challenges to earn an Explorer badge. They're just a way to practice some course navigation and skills before we get started on design.
