  • Choose at least 5 items (in total) from all 4 checklists, and do them. 
  • There are tips for how to proceed in the right column, with resources to help. You will notice there are several "repeats" (i.e., each week has a starter, mid-week, and end-of-week post, with similar content), so try to choose a variety of tasks for yourself

Facilitator Tasks for FLO, Week 2

How you could try this in FDO

Create Week 2 starter post - highlight the Diversity of Learners mini-session for the week. Emphasize that this is the beginning of weekly mini-sessions and that the upcoming week will be facilitated by participants. Mention Tuesday night Synchronous Sessions (if you decide to offer them - they are optional explorations of synchronous collaboration tools like Skype or Google Hangouts)

Draft this "intro post" with the key points you would make to set up Week 2. Save it in your journal for later reference!

Early in the week, connect with Week 4 Collaboration mini-session team via their planning forum (whichever facilitator is supporting this team). Encourage them to begin planning as soon as possible if they haven't already. Remind them to review their activity plan in the Facilitation Teams Workspace.

Create a reminder message to the Week 4 mini-session team. Save it in your journal..

The facilitator supporting the Week 2 Diversity of Learners team supports them behind the scenes throughout the week as necessary, keeping an active eye on their facilitation

On Friday, remind Diversity of Learners team to compose their FLIFs at the end of the week, after they have received some feedback in the feedback forum. Thank the team for facilitating and reminding them that they can go back to "normal" in the course.
