Bringing the OERu strategic pieces together: 4-8 August, 2014
Facilitator: Wayne Mackintosh
The OERu is an international innovation partnership of like-minded institutions using courses based solely on OER to provide more affordable access to tertiary education with pathways to achieve formal academic credit towards credible degrees. (See organisational FAQs for more information.)
True to the OERu's practice of being distinctively open, we are consulting with OERu partners and the open community in developing our 4-year strategic plan. We established a strategic planning portal and posted a draft strategic plan in May 2014 drawing on the recommendations of the 2nd meeting of OERu partners. This scope seminar launches the synthesis phase where we will review feedback to date, propose refinements and discuss strategic targets for the OERu strategic plan. Your feedback will assist the OERu strategic planning working group to produce an integrated set of documents. These documents will be presented at the 3rd meeting of OERu partners in November to be tabled at the meeting of the OERu Council of Chief Executive Officers leading to final approval by the OER Foundation at their December board meeting.
This scope seminar will be structured as follows:
- Planning context: Baseline and progress on the OERu 2014 operational priorities - Monday, 4 August 2014
- Strategic goals for the OERu plan - Tuesday, 5 August 2014
- Calibrating targets for Strategic Goals 1 & 2 - Wednesday, 6 August 2014
- Calibrating targets for Strategic Goals 3 & 4 - Thursday, 7 August 2014
- Synthesis and recommendations for the OERu strategic planning working group - Friday, 8 August 2014.
Help us plan more sustainable education futures. Don't be missed by your absence.
