Feedback for Facilitation Teams
Facilitators appreciate thoughtful and helpful feedback. They will use the comments posted in this forum, and ideas developed during their own reflection activity (the FLIF), to improve their facilitation skills.
Please, consult the straightforward advice in Suggestions for Giving Good Feedback before composing your feedback post.
Think about the week's activity from the "learner perspective." Ask yourself:
- What worked well for me?
- What could have been done differently to improve my learning?
- How will our exploration of the week's topic affect my teaching in the future?
Take a few minutes to review any notes you kept during your experiences as a participant in the week's learning activity. Make sure you click on the topic thread link for the week's Activity you've just completed and respond to the initial posted message.
Remember that constructive feedback is:
- descriptive (specific) NOT evaluative
- identifies strengths or positive effects first
- framed with "I" statements NOT "you" and intended to be helpful NOT hurtful
- provides suggestions for change (that can be accepted or put aside)
- establishes an opening for further dialogue.
Note: We post a separate discussion topic for each week's Team-facilitated Activity; usually the topic is posted later in the week, as you are asked to wait until the learning activity is complete before you post your feedback to the Facilitation Team.
Please post your feedback to the starter topic as this will amalgamate everyone's posts (and make it easier for team members to review).
