Flash and other media programs can be used in inventive ways to showcase First Nations teachings.
One excellent example is the Four Directions Teachings site.
What resources are you are aware of that use Flash, video, etc?

One very clear message that came through at the ICT Summit Conference was that First Nations peoples want to be able to access education programs from their communities. This means either bringing face to face learning to the community or offering online learning. I found this gratifying to hear, since I feared that online learning could be perceived as very Colonial in nature.
We know that Oral Discourse has always been a critical method of knowledge transmission in First Nations learning.
How can this be facilitated in the online environment?

The notion of positionality - a keen awareness of one's place in the world is another important consideration in the literature. The process of developing this in Pre-Colonial times involved oral teachings from parents, elders and other community members. Becoming cognizant of one's unique gifts and talents was a big part of this process.
What can we do to help with this process in the online learning environment?

One critical theme that emerged both from the literature AND the First Nations experts who have given us input into this project is the critical importance of Elders in both formal and informal education. How can this be facilitated in the online environment?
