Approaches to Facilitating a Faculty Reading Group

Hello Everyone:

SFU's Learning and Instructional Development Centre has a small library of books and other media related to teaching and learning.  We're trying to think of ways to promote its use, and one idea is to invite faculty  members to join a reading group once a semester, or so.  LIDC would consider purchasing a number of copies of a selected text for ciculation, and we would invite faculty to co-facilitate, while we attend to the logistics (room, refreshments).  The questions of how we might choose readings and get faculty buy-in are big ones! Has anyone tried this?  Is there a better way of encouraging use of the library? What are your thoughts?
