Call for Examples of Teacher Training for PhD Students
Jeanette McDonald at Wilfrid Laurier University sent the following message to the STLHE/EDO list:
One of our deparments is considering adding a pedagogical stream to its PhD program akin to something like a campus-wide graduate student certificate program like they have at the University of Waterloo (see: http://www.adm.uwaterloo.ca/infotrac/CUT.html). I'm interested to learn if there are other examples of program/department specific initiatives designed to prepare PhD students (and masters) for academia, specifically in the domain of teaching. Your input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
