A couple of WHY statements to begin...

First, it's probably important to state that I teach in graduate programs, where students are already employed in the field I have enjoyed working in for decades. Thus, why do I teach?

- to share my experiences

- to learn from colleagues

I am a facilitator, a coach, and a role model.

Hi Cindy and welcome,

I think you’ve made a good start and will be able to portray in your TSP how you accomplish this. I’d also be interested in knowing more about why these goal/roles are important to you. Did you always see yourself that way as an educator?

What you wrote in your first reply to the survey about what you hoped to gain from this course -- to be able to "articulate a philosophy ... that I can … commit to" -- was one of the more insightful responses contributed. To me it spoke of a woman who wants her work to be the expression of her deeper beliefs and values. Is there a way to blend that thought with the ones you shared today when you write your first draft?
