June's Video

This is an introductory video I have been working on to introduce the Novice to Expert Theory for Nurses by Patricia Benner. I think I have the visuals and background music down pat but I still have flaws in my script getting cut off at the end of certain frames.

Any suggestions on how to fix this (and any other aspects) are most welcome.

I really like the Adobe Spark interface and encourage my own students to use it for their projects. I just wish I could master my audio timing. I have redone the culprit frames several times - that part is frustrating.

If you cannot see this from Kaltura it is also on the Adobe Spark site at:

That's a great voice over video. I love how calm and soothing it is to watch.
And yay! I was hoping to see someone use Spark here. I think with the voice cut offs, maybe you could try leaving an extra few seconds at the end before switching to the next slide. This way you can chop off unnecessary frames. It has been awhile since I've used Spark, but I'm hoping those edit features are still available. I also note from the last time I've used it, that the online version and the app version slightly differs.

Thanks very much for your input and tips, Robin!!  I will see if I can adjust the timeline as you mentioned.

I would really like to get this working properly.

All the best,

June,

Your simple yet informative visuals helped to outline and order the flow of your video for your viewer.   You have a high standard for production, and as you noted, there were instances of cut-off vocals.  If I were to make any suggestion for improvement, at times the background music was almost competing with your voice tone, which is calm, mellow, and easy to listen to.  After listening to your condensed explanation, your model could be used to explain going from novice to expert in most fields, especially teaching. I enjoyed watching your video and watched it again to really listen to your words as I thought about how I could apply your model to explain learning math to students who are at the novice stage and struggling to move to the next level. Thank you for the inspiration.

Out of confusion comes clarity.
