I'm a geography instructor at Mesa Community College in Mesa, AZ.  "Open Textbooks" seems like a great opportunity to take the next step in the evolution of learning resources.  I look forward to learning from the ideas and experiences of others in the group.

Hello Steve,

I spent several wonderful years of childhood living at the edge of Mesa. I'm sure its a very different place now. The trailer park where we lived was on the edge of town and the desert was our backyard. I remember early learning in recognizing poisonous spiders, snakes, and scorpions. We caught lots of horny toads. It was a great place to be a kid.

Tess,

Thanks for your reply.  Mesa, AZ is still a beautiful place to live.  I suspect that the edge of town has migrated a bit since you were here.  It's warm in these parts.  I look forward to cool thoughts from those of you located farther north.
