I am also still grappling with statistics - my sister works with them (she did ask around her office about statistics lectures but no one could remember and she learnt on paper mostly) I got used to asking her questions instead of actually learning as in doing them so I am totally with you re finding out exactly what they mean and how to interpret.
Just remembered one from economics (sorry don't have from anywhere else) is Peter Bernstein explaining risk and probability
