Hi, I'm from Brisbane, Australia.
I'm interested in this course because there is both promise and peril in the application of data modelling, statistical prediction and pattern mapping for learners and institutions.
For this course to be a success for me the discussion and analysis needs to push through the superficial to make me think differently. And I'll need to find it engaging enough to capture my time so that I find myself participating because there are things I want to know from a diverse community challenging me to think.
What else? (your work, your experiences, etc.) I'm professor of ITEE and Psychology at the University of Queensland, I run an R&D group that explores emerging technology and learning/cognitive development & collaboration (social exchange). I'm also a visiting researcher at MIT in Cambridge, MA, where I worked previously. I'm also a runner and enjoy sailing.
At the moment I'm reading Mark Twain's Autobiography and teaching myself the latest version of Final Cut Studio.
