Thanks so much Nicholas for sharing your interesting project with the SCoPE community, and thanks everyone for your participation. As you can see from the final posts in this seminar there are always people who read along. We appreciate it when members pop in to let us know they are participating but have been too busy to contribute, so thanks for that Lynne and Deirdre!
Something that will really stick with me is what Nick said about how we often decide in advance where we want the dialogue to go. As educators we may listen and go through the motions of acknowledging contributions but there's a tendency to revert back to the "prepared story" rather than encourage a student-driven curriculum. What a thought provoking statement Nick has left us with!
We will have a brief hiatus over the next few weeks then start back in August with our annual Reflections and Next Steps seminar to talk about SCoPE and plan for the future. This is tentatively scheduled for August 23-31. Then in September 13 - 30 we are fortunate to have Jesai Jayhmes back with us for Humanizing the Online Experience Part 2. Mark your calendars!
