Self Care Plan Assignment
Create a self-care plan. This assignment is meant to be self-reflective and help identify areas of self-care that may be lacking. We hope that you actually create a plan that you can/will carry out and be useful for you.
Due Date: September 26th but we will accept these until the last day of the course. However, only those submitted by the due date will be read and receive feedback.
Using one of the two self-care assessments found in these resources, Self-Care in Trauma-Informed Organisations, or Educator Resilience and Trauma-Informed Self-Care, or an equivalent self-care assessment of your own, assess your level of self-care.
After taking the assessment, identify areas where your self-care may be lacking or need attention. Then identify 5 achievable self-care things that you can do to bring more self-care into your life. Provide rationale on how these 5 items will fill the gaps and how you will achieve them. Make your items as detailed as possible as you will be more likely to achieve them. Think of SMART goals - specific, measurable, achievable/attainable, realistic, and timely.
For example, I am forever feeling rushed in my days, I pack them too full, so I will do a Yin Yoga practice at Chinook Yoga Studio, twice a week (Monday and Wednesday) at 7:30pm to bring rest and restoration into my life.
Your assignment will include:
- Identified gaps in your self-care
- 5 items that address those gaps
- Rationale on how these 5 things will bring balance or fill the gap
- Details on how you will carry out these 5 things
The assignment should be written and you can be as creative as you like adding any visual aids that you like.
