Section outline

    • Monday June 17th
    • Welcome and introductions
    • AI tools and Art vocabulary
    • Microcourse reading: Besides the AI 'diffusion models' you choose, building a vocabulary of visual art and design is also important. This will expand your ability to create meaningful images and refine the style of your outputs.

    • With the abundance of A.I. image generators available, creating an exhaustive list would be impractical. To simplify the process of choosing appropriate tools for this course, we will demonstrate how to use Adobe Firefly and Microsoft Copilot.

    • I WANT AI TO...

This has been a popular quote going around the internet lately...

"I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes."
A newspaper clipping with a quote "I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing..."

We are exploring ways to use AI to create images for teaching, training, scholarship etc.  This quote captures the idea that, ideally, AI should save us from our household chores so we have more time for creative endeavours. What chores do you find tedious when considering images in your classroom? How might AI (ideally) help you with them?

How would you answer the question, "I want AI to...?
Add a topic below with your response.
