BCcampus: Can webcasting be used effectively to support professional growth?

Site event
"Can webcasting be used effectively to support professional growth?" is the
question posed in this session. BC covers a huge and varied geographic
region. All parts of the system face the challenge of providing professional
growth opportunities in a timely and cost effective manner. In BC, this
challenge was underlined by the Rural Education Taskforce and one response
has been the development of a series of sessions that have been webcast live
to satellite sites across the province and then archived for further
viewing. The project models promising practices in online adult learning -
strong content, interactive discussion and planning, with ongoing local
support. This session will focus on the assumptions guiding the development
of the project, the sessions themselves and the lessons learned.
Participants will be encouraged to share their own experiences and to offer
suggestions for further development.
