Dual Mode Conferences by ◀ |
What might presenters do differently to design a dual mode presentation to better engage with virtual participants? How can we more fully bring the virtual participants into the event and generate interaction between them and the presenter and f2f attendees? One thing I've noticed that is intriguing is that f2f delegates often log in to the Elluminate room even while sitting in the venue. In this case they and the Elluminate facilitator are engaged in dual mode presence with virtual participants. How might we deliberately use this as part of the experience? A big aspect of f2f conferences as Terry and Lynn note in their book is the social networking of delegates. How can we use dual mode presence to create a social networking event that brings f2f and virtual delegates together? | questions | Hilda Anggraeni ◀

Exceptional Online Conferences: Your experiences by ◀ |
During the presentation, I mentioned a few of the exceptional online professional conferences that Terry and I studied and participated in while writing the book. Many more are mentioned in the book. However, I would love to hear about online conferences that you have participated in. What strategies and technologies were used to make it a worthwhile event? | questions | Hilda Anggraeni ◀

Does anyone know of any text aggregators that would bring all text messages sent to a certain number into one location...like a twitterfeed...that could be accessed by all of those on computers so they could be projected for all the individuals in the small groups to see? Or other ideas for how to create, capture, and share back channel conversations using simple cell phones (not smart phones)? | questions | Hilda Anggraeni ◀

The bandwidth problem has slowed video usage in Elluminate. Has WIZIQ solved this? | questions | Hilda Anggraeni ◀

Re: April 11 Live Session: Graphic Recording by Susan Stewart by ◀ |
Was the visualization co-created by multiple/all participants or was it made by one or two individuals to summarize the discussion and used as a record of the conversation or reference point for future discussions? What tools did you use? How did you address issues of differences in cultural visual languages? How did you use the visualization to foster the collaboration and "work with diversity as a resource"? And how was this different in a virtual work space than in a face-to-face venue? | questions | Hilda Anggraeni ◀

Having such discussions is a great way to move forward in the direction of collaborative wiki books because they may be easier to upgrade than printed books or e-books. Any thoughts on the subject of wikibooks? | questions | Hilda Anggraeni ◀

How does having all of the recordings and content available online impact the level of participation during the event? | questions | Hilda Anggraeni ◀
've often wondered this myself. In the CIDER sessions that I organize, we consistantly have an audience that ranges from 40 - 75, and, of course, many more view the archived presentations. In a synchronous environment, it is not always beneficial to have a very large audience as it reduces the opportunities for interaction. So the question is then - does it matter how large the live audience is? | questions | Hilda Anggraeni ◀ | Source | Highlighted Text | Margin Note | User |
