Hello and good-bye for now, fellow Micro FLOers.

Thank you for your engaging participation in this week's Micro FLO as together we rethought our thinking about thinking and applied our thinking to designing our activities.

Finding enough time to design an activity, give feedback to each other, and revise our activities is not always easy, but you have shown your commitment to experiencing new learning while sharing already developed learning with our metacognitive learning community.

Time may feel like it has run out before we were finished, and we may wish we had more time to keep designing and revising.  Good news... our course shell will stay open indefinitely, so if you needed more time, please continue to add your revisions and reflections over the weekend, and do keep checking back to read the new posts and reply if you choose.  The resources will continue to be available to you to review and use.  If you have resources on metacognition you would like to add to our list, please post these in the Open Forum for others to check out.

What a privilege it has been to facilitate this Micro FLO. Where else would you have the opportunity to learn with and from people in Japan,, Nova Scotia, Yukon, and throughout BC.

Please keep reflecting on your learning for as John Dewey said, "We do not learn from experience...we learn from reflecting on experience".

We truly feel like our learners' learners.

Out of confusion comes clarity.

Thank you Micro FLOers,

Please post your reflections as Activity 4 + your name + Looking Back - Looking Forward Reflection

We invite you to share your reflections as you look back over your week's learning about and application of metacognitive activities to your course design  and as you look forward to how you will continue your trip along "Metacognition Lane".

1.  What was particularly useful and interesting for you?

2. How could you share your learning about and application of metacognitive activities in course design with your colleagues?

3. How would you "participant-improve" this Micro FLO for the next participants?

We have enjoyed learning with you and from you.

Out of confusion comes clarity.

Thank you Micro FLOers for sharing your experience and insights with us.

Your participation has made this week's learning so worthwhile, valuable and validating. The quality of your examples in which you applied metacognitive activities was supported by participants' feedback and comments, which is reflected in your revisions.

We invite you to share your reflections as you look back over your week's learning about and application of metacognitive activities to your course design  and as you look forward to how you will continue your trip along "Metacognition Lane".

by Leonne Beebe -

Thank you to everyone who has already posted their activity in Activity 2 and to those who have replied with helpful feedback and comments in each Activity 2 discussion forum.  Keep both coming.

A suggested time frame: please post activities and feedback by Thursday morning, so there will be time by Friday for your activity revisions posted in Activity 3 and your week's reflections posted in Activity 4.

We look forward to learning from you and with you.
