Welcome to the Instructional Skills Workshop Online or ISWO.

  • Please check the schedule at the top of the course and refer to it as a guide throughout the course. You may even want to print it out and put it up in your office or workspace.
  • Weeks 2 through 4 will be revealed in the next few days, but for now please focus your attention on week 1, particularly getting familiar with navigating Moodle and the readings.
  • Office hours are located at the top of the course. Facilitators will be active most days of the course (4:00-600pm), but may be reached through email or by sending requests through Moodle for a Skype or Blackboard session.
  • Here is what to focus on in your first week (please refer to the course schedule for times and deadlines)
    • Review "How to get started" and "Welcome to Week 1"
    • Read Course Outline and ISWO Schedule
    • Select or create your rubric
    • Readings - there will links to database journals as well
    • Start Your Learning Journal and share first nugget(s)    
  • We will be using the Blackboard Collaborate web-conferencing tool for our live communications and sharing of documents and ideas. You will find support documentation at http://www.blackboard.com/Platforms/Collaborate/Services/On-Demand-Learning-Center/Web-Conferencing.aspx  and at the top of the course. Please take the time to go through the tutorials before your first live session with others.
